Sun Araw Going for Adds – Digital Servicing Only

Sun Araw‘s The Inner Treaty, which we serviced to you digitally on Wednesday is going for adds this week!

Sun Araw is the musical alias of Cameron Stallones. After putting out cassette and vinyl only releases on Not Not Fun and limited releases on Woodsist & Thrill Jockey, Stallones began releasing his persistent output on his own label Sun Ark with the help of Drag City. His musical offerings are shaped by psychedelia, funk, jazz, electronic, reggae, and the experimental. His 6th record comes shortly after his celebrated collaboration with friend M. Geddes Gingras and legendary Jamaican group The Congos. The project led Stallones and Gingras to Jamaica where they locked themselves in a studio to record an album with The Congos, whom they had never met before. On The Inner Treaty, his latest offering, the experiences he had in Jamaica permeate through the new collection of songs but it’s combined with Afrobeat rhythms and krautrock excursions into sound. The Inner Treaty deconstructs Stallones many influences into six songs that create an abstract journey that is both futuristic and primitive: sampled loops, puttering percussion, dashing synthesizers, and waning guitar lines are funneled into one cohesive trip.
