Mia Dyson Going for Adds

“This is a career-defining record for Dyson and her music will linger in people’s hearts long after it has stopped playing”
– Herald Sun

Mia Dyson has been working diligently the past decade to be heard on the Australian continent. That work has paid off. She’s headlined shows, played the festivals, cut three records and received plenty of radio play in her native country. She’s toured with Eric Clapton and Stevie Nicks. Writers gush about her whisky-tinged voice and liken her to Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen. But there is this dream she’s had since she was a child: get to America, tour across the States playing music, soak in the American culture and ultimately, make a lasting record.

The Moment frames that three-year journey she took into the mythic American landscape and the depths of uncertainty. It is an album about grabbing hold of what scares you most and letting go of trying to control your own fate. Each song holds up a piece of broken heart and examines it through the fresh eyes of a woman who’s found her place, and is suddenly aware that not much in life can be planned. From the chronicle of an imploding relationship (“Pistol”) to the life-affirming heart-pounding joy of forging ahead (“When The Moment Comes”), this digital sampler gives you an idea of what to expect from The Moment this spring. Australia has already recognized Dyson for her efforts and talent, now it’s time for North America to catch up.

Last week we digitally serviced you with a three-song sampler from The Moment. We’re be sending out the full album later this month.
