The Microphones – “It Was Hot, We Stayed In The Water” Album Review
It’s been thirteen years since It Was Hot, We Stayed in the Water debuted and its recent reissue has done nothing but remind people how incredible the album and The Microphones are. A review of the reissue by PopMatters points out that The Microphones did not fit in with their popular musical landscape of the time, and the fact that people caught on is a pure testament to the talent of the group and the sounds they created. “Lo-fi as a movement was in its infancy, and…one can easily say the Microphones were one of the finest examples of the new Warholians.” The reissue serves as “a doorway to the now and a look at the past influences through the skew of a Viewmaster.” Read the full review here. If you have not added the reissue, don’t miss out!
