Blackie and The Rodeo Kings – Going for Adds

We are excited to bring you the latest singles, “North” and “South”, from Blackie and the Rodeo Kings. The band consists of Colin Linden (The Band, Bob Dylan, Bruce Cockburn), Stephen Fearing (multiple Juno award winner), and Tom Wilson (Junkhouse, Lee Harvey Osmond). Originally, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings was meant to be a one-off departure from their respective solo projects to pay tribute to songwriter Willie P. Bennett. However, they soon realized that together they created some of the finest roots-inspired music in all of North America. Seven albums later and Blackie and the Rodeo Kings have decided to go back to basics for their next record. Their full-length album South, due out in January 2014, features no electric guitar but still holds a powerful depth, making South one of their most confident works to date. “North” and “South” reflect this confidence and depth both lyrically and rhythmically. AllMusic describes the trio as, “one of Canada’s leading roots rock acts…a collaboration between three well-respected blues, folk, and rock musicians.” Both songs are an integration of blues, country, and rock that feels like they were Nashville born and bred.
