Inside Llewyn Davis Top 40 at CMJ – Drowned in Sound Feature

The soundtrack to the beloved Coen Brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis continues to grow at Radio 200, holding steady in the top 40 for three weeks in a row. The soundtrack includes such college radio regulars as Marcus Mumford (of Mumford & Sons), Chris Thile, & Punch Brothers, but it’s the soundtrack’s producer that has received the most attention. Like O Brother, Where Art Thou The Big Lebowski, the soundtrack was produced by the legendary T-Bone Burnett. Drowned in Sound sat down with the talented producer to find out a little more about working with the Coen Brothers, showcasing musical lineage, and the creative destruction of technology. Burnett says, “Art comes out of collaboration, all art comes out of community. And when communities can get together and not fight over who gets what piece, but can instead say ‘This is ours, what we’re doing, and let’s make it great’, it just ends up being better.” Read the rest of the interview here.
