New Music from Howlin Rain

Howlin Rain is the longstanding folk-rock project of former Comets On Fire guitarist Ethan Miller. Miller’s newest album Mansion Songs, the first of a trilogy, is set to be released early next year. The album is a product of catharsis and transformation for Miller. Howlin Rain has evolved into something strange and true and beautiful. The result is an album that pines and yearns, lusts and wails. Yesterday the band shared the song “Wild Bush” off the ablum with Stereogum. The “twangy, organ-laden stomper” laced with huge “group singsong” and “some sterling lead guitar”, sounds like a “lost psychedelic folk song from Dead‘s heydey” or possibly a “playful composite of Nick Cave and Blitzen Trapper.” Listen for yourself here!
