Buxton Going for Adds

Buxton’s third release Half A Native is a record of growth and progress, with added elements of jangly-psych, honky-tonk, ambience and distortion. Buxton was born and raised in the South, but made the trek out to Los Angeles to work with fabled producer/engineer Thom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, Vetiver, Beachwood Sparks, Jonathan Wilson). The shift helped Buxton to craft their most realized album to date, a work of psych-infused jangle rock stripped down to its Texas roots. Entertainment Weekly is calling the new album a “blend of sugar-sweet hooks and honky tonk twang.” EW is streaming some tracks here.
