Even after founding one of the most influential bands of the past 30 years with The B-52’s & providing her legendary style to songs by R.E.M., Iggy Pop, The Ramones and David Byrne – Kate Pierson hadn’t released a solo album until this year’s Guitars and Microphones. NPR‘s Morning Edition spoke to Pierson about how she ended up in Athens to form “one of the most iconic bands of the 70s” & what led to her finally writing a solo record.
