Kate Pierson Talks to Paste Magazine – New Peak at CMJ

It is difficult to listen to the new album by Kate Pierson & not think about her work with The B-52s. Her “amazing brassy voice” has beamed over college / non-commercial airwaves for almost four decades. Musically though, Paste Magazine sees the debut release as a departure from the work she does with her iconic band, “The music feels like it couldn’t have been made by anyone else”, they tell Pierson in a recent interview. In the interview, Pierson shares that releasing a solo album has been a lifelong dream of hers and how single “Bring Your Arms” ignited her songwriting session with friend Sia.
