Vetiver’s Complete Strangers Going for Adds

After a three-year hiatus Vetiver is back with Complete Strangers & going for adds this week. The album’s introspective lyrics are paired with instrumentals that seem to fluctuate between melancholy and sunshine, producing a sound that is magnetic.

Cabic describes the album as being built around dualities; much of the album explores the ebbs and flows of different fleeting moments and feelings. Many of the songs are based on short moments in various locations. Lead single “Current Carry” plays with a prominent beat, blanketed with golden-hued guitar and relaxed vocals. The track “Shadows Lane” has poetic and whimsical lyrics that are made melodious with drawn out vocals. Despite the different moods of individual tracks, the album maintains a cohesiveness & catchiness that is unmatched by any other Vetiver record.

Complete Strangers features Bart Davenport (Burger Records), Gabe Noel (Nite Jewel) and Josh Adams. The record was produced & engineered by longtime collaborator Thom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, Au Revoir Simone, Beachwood Sparks, Buxton).
