Kuroma Going for Adds
Psychedelic and glammy power-pop quartet Kuroma, fronted by Hank Sullivant formerly of MGMT and The Whigs, is seeking Adds this week for their jubilant new album Kuromarama. Spanning ten tracks, Kuromarama is the most-polished and realized iteration yet of Sullivant‘s genius, which previously brought us the albums Paris and Psychopomp. The album was recorded between the band members’ hometowns of Brooklyn and Athens, GA, and it conjures a joyous, melodically rich sound that the Drive-by Truckers’ Patterson Hood has described as “a southern soulful slab of psychedelica that sounds like the redneck bastard son Todd Rundgren wishes he had.” Out tomorrow via Votiv, this sublime and sunny release is perfectly timed for summer listening and the band’s upcoming tour with Tame Impala.
“With… Kuromarama, the decidedly chipper rockers compel us to pop the hard tops of our Wranglers and round up the gang for a season-opening barbecue on the beach.”
– Nerdist
“An explosion of experiments… the energy is addictively captivating.”
