Stereogum and OkayPlayer Feature Lianne La Havas’ “What You Don’t Do” Video

Soulful songstress Lianne La Havas returns this summer with the follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough? While making new album Blood, La Havas was influenced much in part by a trip she took to Jamaica. It was here that she re-connected with her familial and musical roots, leading to an emphasis on grooves, rhythm, and syncopation for her new album.

These elements subtly pervade her latest single, “What You Don’t Do,” as she “takes the sensibilities of doo-wop and updates them with jittery piano, bursts of brass, and that flawless voice.” Stereogum featured the striking & alluring video for the track here. The video was also highlighted here by OkayPlayer, who called it “a wispy and cerebral video [that] finds the lovely La Havas amidst an array of shrubbery and vibrant backdrops.”

“What You Don’t Do” is spinning at radio now.
