The Bird and the Bee Talk to ArtistDirect, Share “Acoustic” Performance

The Bird and the Bee‘s new LP, Recreational Love, is an “enjoyable, entrancing, and enigmatic collection that engages from the get-go and doesn’t let go until the final crescendo.” This is according to ArtistDirect, which currently features a long, in-depth interview with the singer Inara George. In the interview, George discusses her creative process with the other half of the duo, producer Greg Kurstin, and she also shares non-musical inspirations that include her kids, Haruki Murakami, and even the Twilight series. Read it here, in a piece that also includes some Bird and the Bee video embeds.

The duo has also recently released a performance video of single “Will You Dance?” that they’ve labeled as an “Acoustic Session.” The video features George at a microphone singing the song’s lyrics, while Kurstin moves around behind her to articulate the song’s instrumental parts on a large and diverse collection of modern and vintage synths. It may not be acoustic, but it’s pared down and fun. Watch the video below.

After back-to-back weeks in the CMJ Top 10, Recreational Love has spent consecutive weeks at #11 at Radio 200. Thanks to all the stations that have supported the Bird and the Bee.
