Lianne La Havas Earns Live Praise, Announces US Tour, Reaches #15 at CMJ

Before the July 31 release of her sophomore album Blood, which is currently at #15 on the CMJ Radio 200 and looking to peak even higher, British neo-soul genius Lianne La Havas played a couple of shows in the United States that turned heads. Of her Bowery Ballroom show, the New York Times wrote that “Ms. La Havas was all smiles onstage… But with her electric guitar in hand her fingers were busy… guiding the entire band. She was setting up all the musical crosscurrents that she would navigate with such poise.” According to this review by the LA Music Blog, which caught her show at the Troubadour, “Her dexterity and dynamics are equally blood pumping and heart wrenching.” Yet North American fans haven’t had a chance to see La Havas since those dates, as she’s spent the summer performing at festivals in her native Britain.

Fortunately, she’ll be crossing the pond again in September for a month-long tour of the US and Canada:
