Futurebirds Talk to Seventh Hex, Perform for OurVinyl, and Tour

In a recent interview with The Seventh Hex, Futurebirds member Carter King explained the dire feelings that went into writing the new album Hotel Parties while touring behind their last album. “We couldn’t see at the time that we were shedding some necessary skin. It just looked to us like the wheels were coming off. We were still dealing with replacing a founding member and songwriter, we were in flux between management and labels, and everything was taking so much longer than we thought it should. Too much time to think can be a terrible thing.” Yet through the turmoil, King told the magazine, they “got to the heart of the band, and the heart of these songs, which had more themes and subject matter laid out in plain view than we’d ever had before.” King certainly lays a lot out in the full interview, which goes in depth about the making of the album and how the band gets along with itself. It’s all right here and well worth reading.

Futurebirds also recently did a session for OurVinyl, which was recorded in the Ink building near downtown Nashville. Watch “Paranoia Letters”, “Rodeo,” and “twentyseven” below:
