PopMatters Reviews the Donkeys and Northern Transmissions Premieres “Hurt Somebody”

PopMatters has published a nice review of the DonkeysMidnight Palms, writing that the band’s inclusion of lead guitarist Steve Selvidge (the Hold Steady) makes for a positive development of the band’s sound. Though the review laments the record’s short runtime, overall it says “it sounds like a band taking stock, returning to their strengths, and pushing at some new angles.” Lead song “Hurt Somebody” is “as energetic as the band has sounded on record in years,” but the best moments on the mini-LP are it’s “dreamier” ones, according to PopMatters. Read the review here.

Northern Transmissions recently premiered “Hurt Somebody,” writing about Midnight Palms‘ road worn feel. Read the feature here, and listen below.

Last week, we re-serviced Midnight Palms with an edited, FCC Clean version of “Hurt Somebody.” Get it onto your playlist and help the Donkeys climb the Radio 200.
