KWCW Interviews The Cave Singers

Walla Walla’s KWCW has been supporting The Cave SingersBanshee LP, and the station recently conducted a phone interview with the band’s singer Peter Quirk. Clocking in at almost 25 minutes, the conversation is notable for how informed and enthusiastic the station’s DJs are about the Cave Singers and the folky Seattle scene from which the band emerged. The interview is full of information and insights, as Quirk takes the KWCW crew through the band’s impulse-following creative process, shares preferences for tourmates, reminisces about some of the band’s previous releases such as 2013’s Naomi, and sheds light on the mythology around the word “banshee.” Catch the interview on KWCW between shows over the next couple of weeks, or stream it below.

After working with Matador and Jagjaguwar on their four previous releases, The Cave Singers opted to release Banshee without a label. They need grassroots support more than ever, so get them spinning at your station if they’re not already!
