St. Germain, On Tour, Talks to The West Australian

St. Germain, the pseudonym of electronic pioneer Ludovic Navarre, is currently on the North American leg of a worldwide tour in support of his self-titled comeback album St. Germain. In a recent interview with The West Australian, Navarre explains the difference between the new album and Tourist, his chart-busting multi-platinum release from 2000. “I really wanted more traditional sounds with traditional instruments,” he told the newspaper, explaining why he enlisted top-notch French and African instrumentalists to help him create the record.
On his current tour, St. Germain is playing with a crack team of musicians from Mali, Senegal, Brazil, Martinique, French Guiana, and Guadaloupe. “We are, of course, playing songs from the Tourist album,” he assured the West Australian. “The mixing of the different instrumentation is really amazing and great for dancing too.” Read the interview here.
