Tacocat, #2 At Radio 200, Gets Great Reviews From Stereogum and The Line Of Best Fit

Everything is looking up for Tacocat, as the four-piece Seattle punk group has rocketed to #2 at the CMJ Radio 200. Keep the band in your hearts and on your charts as they aim to break hit the top!

One reason Tacocat is so appealing is because their music and deadpan lyrics are seriously resonant. According to Stereogum, the band’s message is humanist: “In addition to the obvious and unapologetic feminism on Lost Time,” writes reviewer Collin Robinson, “there is a relatability that resonates and elevates it to something much bigger than this specific body of work at this moment in time… There’s a lot of challenging stuff packed into quickly paced, short explorations… but [Tacocat is] too infectious not to engage.” Check out the review, with streams of “I Hate the Weekend” and “Time,” here.

The Line of Best Fit is also on the Lost Time bandwagon, calling the LP “27 minutes of bubblegum pop that doesn’t lose its taste.” According to the site, the song “Men Explain Things to Me” “could very easily become an underground feminist anthem” in the same vein as songs by Chastity Belt, Girlpool, and Childbirth. TLOBF also compares the band to Alvvays in its seriously flattering review, which begins by outlining the band’s surprising connection to Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine. Read it here.
