New Music From Anna Of The North – Digital Servicing Only

Although they’ve yet to release a full album, the Oslo-based duo Anna of the North has found an international audience and viral success with an epic, swooning, and ethereal sound that, according to the FADER, “brings out Scandi-pop’s sensitive side.” The project got its start when singer Anna Lotterud, who grew up in a small town and was managing a clothing store in Oslo, began to feel unsettled in life and decided to travel alone to Melbourne, Australia. There, she met Brady Daniell-Smith (Little Dreamer), a fellow Norwegian and a producer, who recognized her talent and invited her into his circle of friends. Soon, a fruitful collaboration bloomed and Lotterud became Anna of the North.

According to Gorilla Vs. Bear, Anna of the North’s new single “Baby” “radiates so much youthful, wistful anticipation that someone should probably make it some kind of official international 2016 prom anthem.” Slow, sparkling, and dreamy, the song is joined in this digital servicing with “Sway” and “The Dreamer,” two previous singles that have topped the Hype Machine charts after being featured on Spotify and streamed more than 21 million times on the platform. The duo toured Europe this April with KYGO and is slated for several performances at Brighton, England’s revered Great Escape festival next week.

“Anna keeps twisting and warping the dreamlike blueprint of her Scandipop forebears to such gorgeous effect.” -NME

“The Norwegian singer has an effortless way of crafting dark, chamber-pop music that carries us away into our deepest of feelings.” -Nylon
