The So So Glos, on Tour, are Reviewed by Pitchfork & Consequence of Sound
Pitchfork just gave its approval to the So So Glos’ new album Kamikaze, writing in a review that praises the band’s connection to their local Brooklyn DIY scene and acknowledges the world-weary and self-aware lyrical thrust of their new collection of tunes while lauding its “peppy backbeats, gang-shouted choruses, and fist-pumping enthusiasm.” Read the review here.
In its review of the album, Consequence of Sound says “the band comes across like the Adderall-fueled offspring of The Beastie Boys and proto-punks The Heartbreakers,” with “plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor” and “the manic energy to keep a certain kind of basement party going all night long.” Check it out here!
The band had a solid CMJ debut last week and is aiming to break into the Top 50 at Radio 200 this week. Give them some spins, and don’t forget to check them out on tour!
