Fruit Bats Set Sights on CMJ Surge, Earn Paste Praise

Fruit Bats new album Absolute Loser has been very well received. The LP, the first Eric D. Johnson has released under the Fruit Bats name since 2011, inched up to #7 on Radio 200 last week — but it’s still got a ways to go before it matches the success of 2011’s Tripper and hits the #1 spot. Give it a boost at your station this week, and help sustain its forward momentum! And if you haven’t yet checked it out, get started with the tracks “From a Soon-to-Be Ghost Town” and “Humbug Mountain Song,” the video for which is below.
The album was featured by Paste Magazine as one of the “5 Best Albums of May 2016,” putting it in the company of new ones from Radiohead, Car Seat Headrest, Chance the Rapper, and… Bob Dylan! According to the website, the LP is “as cohesive and strong top to bottom as anything frontman Eric D. Johnson has made.” Check out the list here.
