Coast Modern is Featured by Void Magazine and KEXP

Void Magazine recently included “Guru,” from Coast Modern’s self-titled radio-only EP, in a summer playlist aimed at helping those whose “current summer jams are getting dull already.” The accompanying feature, written by Spinnaker Radio‘s Music Director Erica Bunch, says the band’s style combines “Santigold-esque instrumentals with vocals reminiscent of Cage the Elephant’s Matt Schultz” and remarks that the song is “perfect for cruising down [the highway] with the top dropped.” Listen to the whole mix right here.
KEXP recently included another song from the EP, “Hollow Life,” as a part of its ongoing Song of the Day website feature. The band is “batting 100% with catchy-chorused heavy pop,” writes KEXP, after noting, “It’s a blessing when you get to watch success happen… and [Coast Modern’s recent rise] is one of those moments.” Enjoy the song, as well as a stream of the EP’s third track “Animals,” here.
