Westword Lauds Tacocat For Empowering Other “Girl Bands”

Westword has a thinkpiece on Tacocat, whose Lost Time has been the soundtrack to our summer. Written by Denver-based musician and festival creator Bree Davies, the feature opines on the challenges of being a female rock musician and the “very complicated and exhausting regimen of completely made-up rules that many of us have been ignoring for decades but still seem to be punished by.” Yet Tacocat, Davies contends, is “inclusive and accessible to other women.” Davies highlights one such band in this feature, Denver’s Corner Girls, to demonstrate how Tacocat is a group of “seasoned musicians who have always put forth the intention of sharing the stage with new and less-established acts that include women.”
