The Chico News Review Interviews Tacocat

Tacocat recently sat down with the Chico News Review in advance of their July show at California venue Duffy’s Tavern and talked extensively about their collective feminism. “I know a lot of women in bands who are very strong feminists but who think, when it comes to their music, they don’t wanna talk about it because it doesn’t have much to do with it,” said bassist Bree McKenna. Tacocat, however, doesn’t shy away from the topic, and new LP Lost Time includes some straightforward lyrics that address topics such as mansplaining and their periods. Read the interview, which includes at least one eye-rolling example of the chauvinism the band has faced during its ascent, here.
