Coast Modern Talks To Hooligan Magazine
“Did you,” Hooligan Magazine asked in a recent interview with Coast Modern, “intentionally try to mix the light and dark?” This is a reference to the band’s sonic and thematic juxtapositions, as “somber lyrics overlay cool synths and breezy beats” on the four singles the duo of Coleman Trapp and Luke Atlas have released so far. “Our sound comes from just being open, taking our time, and having fun,” Trapp told the magazine, explaining that Coast Modern’s songs come more from experimentation and improvisation than from anything planned.
