Fences EP, Streaming on Fuse, is Reviewed by Shows I Go To

Shows I Go To is positively effusive in its response to Fences‘ new EP To The Tall Trembling Trees, writing that the six-song missive from Chris Mansfield is “the first [EP] that’s ever made me want to have a son or daughter.” The review compares Mansfield to Conor Oberst, except “more honest and sad” and explains that “it feels so good to feel” all of the emotions inspired by this “refreshingly self-aware and honest” collection. The EP is streaming now via Fuse, which talked to Mansfield about the meaning behind the record’s name. “To The Tall Trembling Trees is a flowery metaphor but it also very literal for me,” he told Fuse. “It’s a gift to the nervous and the majestic. People I have met, am related to, or even something inside myself. I’m admittedly channeling [Walt] Whitman but with less bravery.” Enjoy the album stream right here.
