According to The Quietus, Devendra Banhart possesses “style and [a] sound [that] are ever evolving and, as such, ever difficult to pin down.” This is surely apparent on new LP Ape In Pink Marble, and the result of the myriad musical influences Banhart has devoured over his life. He recently shared some of those influences with The Quietus, discussing 13 of his favorite albums of all time. The collection includes records by Maki Asakawa, Bat For Lashes, This Mortal Coil, and Cate Le Bon. Read Banhart’s loving descriptions of each, and perhaps some of them will become favorites for you as well. The feature is available here.
