The FADER Shares Kan Wakan Video

Kan Wakan has released a new video for “I Would,” a song currently available on his Molasses EP that will also be included on the upcoming 3-LP collection Phantasmagoria. According to The FADER, which has the premiere, “I Would” is “a lovesick song with an equally tender video… A black-and-white clip about a couple torn apart by various spectres.” The article quotes Gueorgui I. Linev, the artist behind Kan Wakan, about the song’s origin. “My friend Elle Olsun came into the studio and I played her a nylon guitar riff I had recorded on my phone,” he says. “When she heard it she just went along and started singing this melody and we bounced ideas back and forth…. I had gotten so used to working on projects, passing around files over the internet and not seeing outside of the 4 walls in the studio, it was really refreshing to sit by the piano and make music together.”

Check out the fruits of their labor here, and get the Molasses EP spinning today.
