Graphic Designer Outlines Joseph & The Beasts Process
If your station has been playing Joseph & The Beasts‘ Gold Light LP, then some of your DJs have probably gotten lost in its ornate and gorgeous album artwork. Designer David William (D. Billy) did the album’s layout, using a kaleidoscopic duplication of artwork created by the band’s dear friend Patience Wyman, and he’s outlined the process on his website. William is clearly a huge fan of the band, which he describes as “a fanf*ckingtastic Baltimore-based indie rock band fronted by multi-instrumentalist Joseph Mulhollen, whose rich vocals, arresting melodies, and pleasingly oblique lyrics have been some of my eardrums’ favorite things since 1998.” Obviously he was a great pick to put together the vinyl packaging, which is truly wonderful!
