Dude York, Championed By KEXP, Plans June Jaunt

Dude York has had a huge year so far. Their critically-acclaimed LP Sincerely has rocked radio stations around the US, they were one of the best-received bands at SXSW, and a massive tour around the country has earned them a large and vibrant fan base. But it all started in Seattle, and KEXP was one of the first stations to get on board with the band. They featured “Black Jack,” from Sincerely, on their website late last year, writing that “For years, Dude York have been one of our favorite live bands in town. If you’ve ever been to a rock show in Seattle, there’s a decent chance you’ve seen them kick the night off with blistering rock goodness.” Knowing about the band’s triumphs over the last six months, it’s charming to look back in the archive and read their hometown station’s loving description, which is bathed in anticipation for a then-unreleased album that is now out and beloved.
