The Sacramento Bee Cites Dude York As One Of 2017’s Best “Overlooked” Bands
Did you sleep on Dude York‘s fantastic 2017 LP Sincerely? It did amazingly well at college and specialty radio – it peaked in the Top 5 at both NACC and Specialty and is still charting at a handful of stations almost a year after its release. Apparently the gospel isn’t completely out though, because The Sacramento Bee deemed it necessary to include the band on its list of “fringe, but good” albums its readers may have not heard in 2017. Calling the band’s songs “anthemic, but not overblown” and comparing them to “Weezer at their best,” the article states that “throughout the album, Dude York build in guitar solos, fills and lead lines that add layers of melody and interest to songs that already had solid vocal melodies and riffs. This is the sound of a promising band coming into their own.” Read the feature here.
If you’re getting this email, we’d be surprised if you haven’t heard Dude York yet! But if you haven’t, Sincerely is available on our download page.
