Beams’ Anna Mernieks Speaks With the Wisconsin Gazette

Beams is currently on tour in North America, and bandleader Anna Mernieks recently conducted an interview with the Wisconsin Gazette to promote the band’s show last week in Milwaukee. Mernieks dealt with a severe bout of depression during the making of the album, which she addressed during the interview. According to the singer/songwriter, “writing songs” was helpful when it came to getting through that period of her life. She also named “My Second Time in the Mountains” as her favorite track on the band’s new album Teach Me To Love, which is currently at radio, and gave the somewhat-humorous story behind its lyric.
