“When music gets into you when you’re young,” says Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne in his recent appearance on the Fidelity High, it “colors you.” One artist who had an early influence on Coyne is Donovan, whose Greatest Hits album Coyne discusses during the podcast. Coyne takes listeners on a tour of the collection, lovingly commenting on each song and explaining Donovan’s appeal while putting him in historical context. Some of the stories, particularly the one behind “Catch The Wind,” are quite interesting and illuminating. It’s a worthwhile listen that can be heard right here.
The Flaming Lips’ most recent album, Oczy Mlody, is really good.
