World Cafe Premieres Sunny War’s “If It Wasn’t Broken”

WXPN’s World Cafe has thrown its weight behind Sunny War, writing that she’s “a fantastic guitar player… Citing influences as diverse as Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Tracy Chapman, Joan Armatrading and Black Flag, the songs on War’s forthcoming album, With The Sun, evoke a wondrous, breathless beauty and are filled with hypnotic, acoustic calm. Her songs are exemplified by her tender voice, her unique style of guitar playing and her ability to touch the listener’s heart with her lyrics.” World Cafe premiered War’s song “If It Wasn’t Broken,” which opens With The Sun, in a feature earlier this year. Says War, “I hope the pulse of this song can comfort and resonate with other broken-hearted people.”

Enjoy the song here; fans can also check out War’s February performance on World Cafe – which was re-broadcast just last week – right here.
