Sunny War was one of the highlights of last month’s AmericanaFest in Nashville, earning acclaim from many of the assembled reporters who came to document the proceedings. Listening Through The Lens claims to have seen more than 70 different performers at the festival and, in a roundup blog post available here, listed War as one of his favorites. In their roundup, here, WMOT noted that War’s presence was part of “most robust presence of African-American artists in the convention’s history” and praised her singing. According to World Cafe, which published a review of the fest here, War was among the “street buzz highlights of the week.”
Fortunately, the magic of War’s live performance is well-captured on her new LP With The Sun. The album is aiming for a new NACC peak this week!
