Alex Lilly Explores Her Influences and Training With Keyboard Magazine

Keyboard recently talked to Alex Lilly, whose album 2% Milk will be released this month. Lilly, who has played in Beck‘s touring band, explained that the artist had a big impact on her. “Beck’s Sea Change,” she said, “left a big impression as did Midnight Vultures. I remember copying out string parts by hand while blasting that record. Such a juxtaposition of activities!” She also spoke at length about the impact of Inara George, whose Release Me Records is putting out 2% Milk and who gave Lilly her “big break” by asking her to join the bird and the bee as a touring member.
