The Juno-Nominated Barr Brothers Speak To The Globe And Mail

The Barr Brothers’ Queens Of The Breakers was nominated for a 2019 Juno Award in the category of Best Adult Alternative Album. It didn’t win, but the nod did earn the Barr Brothers a lengthy profile in The Globe and Mail. Though the Barrs are originally from the US, the paper asked them about their place in the Canadian music scene and the impact their adopted country has had on their sound and their lives. According to Brad Barr, “I think there’s more of a sense of social responsibility in Canada. Especially in Quebec. It’s part of the culture.”
