According To NPR, Combo Chimbita Has Made The Best Latin Alternative Songs of 2019

Has Combo Chimbita made the best Latin Alternative song of 2019 so far?

Yes – obviously they have. We got an advance copy of their new album Ahomale a few months ago, we’ve been listening to it on repeat, and frankly it’s hard for us to figure out which of its ten tracks deserve that title. Clearly it’s one of them.

Fortunately, NPR’s World Cafe has chimed in, and apparently the best song is…  “Ahomale” and “Brillo Más Que El Oro (La Bala Apuntándome).”* Here at AmApAc, we pride ourselves on our math and we’re fairly sure that’s actually two songs. But we can’t blame NPR, because it’s hard to pick favorites on a record this good. And the band did, of course, create a joint video that combines the two songs in much the same way as Green Day did with “Brain Stew/Jaded” back in the day.
