Refinery 29 Premieres Samantha Sidley’s New Video

Not only does Refinery 29 have the premiere of Samantha Sidley‘s video for “I Like Girls,” the lifestyle zine also has an interview with the jazzy singer who is currently preparing for the September release of LP Internal Person. In the interview, Sidley explains the genesis of the song: “I asked Alex Lilly and Barbara Gruska, my wife, to write me some songs. They came up with this one-liner, ‘I like girls,’ because it’s part of my story. Alex had the melody. We all went to an Airbnb in Joshua Tree, where they kept asking me, ‘What kind of girls do you like?’ I like them all, I don’t have a preference! So we wrote the song based on that.” The video, of course, plays on this concept in a big, bold, and beautiful way. See it here, and read the whole interview with Samantha Sidley.

“I Like Girls,” along with Sidley’s cover of The Beach Boys‘ “Busy Doin’ Nothin’,” is currently at radio. See her on the road with Alex Lilly and The Bird And The Bee:
