SLUG Says Fruit Bats Expand On Gold Past Life

In a review of Fruit Bats’ Gold Past Life, SLUG Mag explains that the band has “added a lot to their sound in this release by featuring lots of keyboard driven elements that help to blur the lines between rock, folk and pop.” According to SLUG, the record sounds like Dr. Dog, Blitzen Trapper, Phoenix, and The Shins. The site says the band breathes “a breath of fresh air [into] their already expansive discography with Gold Past Life. This album is an eye-opener to their diversity, and while it still encapsulates those true-to-character folk elements, those coming to the Fruit Bats to hear their classic sound will be pleasantly surprised.” Read the review here.
