Tinariwen has released Amadjar, a short companion film to go with the band’s LP of the same name. As Jambase writes, “The mini-documentary was directed by Celidja Pornon and filmed in the Morrocan Sahara and in Mauritania. Amajdar features footage of the band on the road and on stage. Founder Ibrahim Ag Alhabib gives a rare interview as part of the mini-documentary, which also captures Tinariwen recording Amajdar and performing around a fire.” See the whole thing here.
Amadjar has topped the NACC World chart for an incredible eight weeks, and the album slipped to #2 on the Transglobal World Chart for November after topping that chart in October. It’s also hit the peak at Earshot International. Thanks to everyone who has played Amadjar over the past few months – keep it spinning!
