Sunny War Makes NPR’s Heavy Rotation

NPR Music recently reached out to member stations for a “Heavy Rotation” feature on their favorite songs so far from 2020. Sunny War made the list as a recommendation from Kim Ruehl of Folk Alley, who picked a track from War’s pandemic-themed release Can I Sit With You? “She Just Don’t Care” has proven timely with its lyrics about reparations, Ruehl observes, but the entire EP is worthy of attention as “War’s vocals deliver missives about loss, longing and justice.” See the full NPR Heavy Rotation list here.
