Leif Vollebekk Amazes While Playing Glenn Gould’s Piano

Last year, Leif Vollebekk performed a version of his hit song “Transatlantic Flight” on the Glenn Gould Piano in the Roy Thomson Hall lobby in Toronto as part of the Variations series. According to the Roy Thompson Hall website, “on display in the north lobby is Glenn Gould’s CF II Yamaha Concert Grand Piano, the very piano Gould used to record his last four albums, including the Grammy award winning 1981 Bach: The Goldberg Variations. This original new series brings the sound of that grand instrument back to life with artists performing variation on their own original material.”

Hear Vollebekk’s gorgeous rendition of the song, a highlight from last year’s New Ways LP, right here.
