New Music From The Road Angel Project

Starting last year with “Sex In Cars,” a single release by Inara George featuring Dave Grohl, George’s Release Me Records has been consistently putting out bundles of new music by a variety of artists under the Road Angel Project banner. The point of the project is to raise funds and awareness for The Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides support to people in the music industry who are suffering as a result of COVID-19 and the economic shutdowns it has necessitated. According to George, “I’ve had such a wonderful time putting all of these releases together.  It’s been such an amazing thing to reach out to my musical community and have so many people so willing and so happy to donate their music to help the cause. Sweet Relief has been there for so many musicians and music industry workers during this moment of insecurity due to Covid, but Sweet Relief has been supporting musicians for years and years. I have several people in my life who have been directly supported by this amazing organization during their most intense moments of need.” For more information about Sweet Relief, visit sweetrelief.org.

The newest installment in the series features tracks by Daedelus, Michael Andrews (aka Elgin Park) featuring Inara George, and Gabe Noel. Daedelus’ contribution, “Brightest Star Tonight,” is, according to the artist, “an attempt to soundtrack that lighter than air moment before hitting the stage, all the ways ineffable.” Andrews and George contribute an Allen Toussaint cover, and Gabe Noel finishes the set with the contemplative, ambient drone of “Stringbath 6.”
