Norman Records Highlights Jeffrey Runnings’ Piqued
Norman Records appreciates the legacy of For Against, a band that “made dark post-punk in an era when it was completely unfashionable to do so.” The shop has a review of the posthumous release from the band’s frontman, Jeffrey Runnings, that’s at radio now from Independent Project Records. According to Norman, “Piqued doesn’t stray too far from that blueprint and features a set of atmospheric, swirling compositions that bring to mind The Chameleons and The Cure as well as more downbeat lo-fi compositions all of which were recorded at home on an 8-track recorder. There’s just something special about it… a perfect epitaph.”
