AllMusic Gives Nico Muhly and Teitur Four Stars
AllMusic has reviewed Nico Muhly & Teitur‘s collaborative album Confessions, giving the new LP four out of five stars. Writing about the project’s creation, AllMusic says, “The project was inspired by the early days of social networking and the phenomenon of people uploading mundane, sometimes uniquely self-revealing home videos, specifically to YouTube. Originally conceived as a shorter set for multimedia live performance, it grew to 14 songs that they recorded with the Holland Baroque ensemble… As often happens when one takes a closer look at the commonplace, the resulting songs are alternately humorous, poetic, and touching.”
According to AllMusic, “with such an inspired concept in the able hands of Muhly and Teitur, Confessions turns out to be as charming as it sounds on paper; at times it’s even profound.” Read the review here.
