The Dream Syndicate Tours, Releases RSD EP and Video

The Dream Syndicate last year released their first album in thirty years, How Did I Find Myself Here?, to much critical acclaim. This week, they’re excited to release their first-ever Record Store Day exclusive piece How We Found Ourselves…Everywhere!, a six-song LP of outtakes, live recordings, and B-sides. “2017 was a pretty dizzying year for us,” explains band leader Steve Wynn of their recent revival. “Suddenly we had a new album that was getting a great response on its own terms. We had never done anything for Record Store Day before and a documentation of where we’d been and what we’d done–almost like some kind of sonic travelogue– seemed like a good theme for our first dip in the RSD waters.” TDS is also thrilled to have the legendary John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin on the EP. “We became friends and would see each other here and there ….” Wynn said. “He wanted to play [How Did I Find Myself Here?‘s title track] on this really wild electronic, tricked-out purple lap steel guitar he had recently acquired. Man, it was wild… I still get giddy when I look over across the stage and say ‘Holy cow–that’s John Paul Jones.’” In addition to the new version of that song, the EP includes the new song “Recurring: Steve’s Dream” for which they’ve released a surrealist video. Watch it here.
