New Music From David Newton & Thee Mighty Angels – Digital Servicing Only

This week we have the debut release from David Newton & Thee Mighty Angels with their EP, Paint The Town. Newton is best known for his time with pivotal UK jangle-pop group, The Mighty Lemon Drops. Their signing to Sire Records grouped them with influential bands like The Ramones, Talking Heads, The Cure, Dinosaur Jr., Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine, Lou Reed, and more. With the band, he served as the guitarist and songwriter until the group disbanded in 1992. Since then he’s taken to the recording studio, producing and engineering albums for The Little Ones, The Happy Hollows, The Soft Pack, The Henry Clay People, and many more. After 19 years,Newton is poised to release his first output since his Mighty Lemon Dropsdays. Throughout Paint The Town there is a thread of the 80s romanticism his first group was known for, but with a more sophisticated focus on Brit-pop than shoe gaze.
