The Scotsman gives four stars to The Wide, Wide River, the newest release from countryman James Yorkston. “The Wide, Wide River is the product of a three-day recording session in Stockholm in December 2019 with the Second Hand Orchestra, a freewheeling Swedish string band who approached the session with next to no prior knowledge of the material around which they were going to improvise.
